Dog Control Coalition: XL Bully Impact Assessment 

The aim of this report is to illustrate the impact of adding a fifth type of dog to those banned under the Dangerous Dogs Act in 2023. We look at the impact on owners, the animal welfare sector, enforcers of the ban, and importantly, on public safety. We make the case that a new – considered and evidence-based - approach is needed, and provide a series of actions to help initiate and achieve effective and preventative dog control which protects public safety and dog welfare.
